NBG Hosts Presentation on Payment Infrastructure Transformation Projects for Public Institutions

The National Bank of Georgia hosted a presentation on two current projects aimed at transforming payment infrastructure for representatives of public institutions. 


The event was opened by NBG Vice Governor Ekaterine Galdava, who shared insights into the upcoming initiatives. She emphasized the benefits of the new instant payment system, stating: 


"The updated instant payment system will accelerate and simplify payment processes, significantly enhancing service quality. Furthermore, users will be able to make payments at any time, with recipients receiving funds instantly."


As part of the meeting, detailed presentations highlighted the modernization of the existing Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system and the implementation of a cutting-edge instant payment system. 


Natalia Chkoidze, Head of the Payment Systems Department, elaborated on the functionalities, advantages, and benefits of these new systems during her presentation. She outlined how the initiatives would benefit not only state organizations but also their end-users. 

 

The event was attended by representatives from various public institutions, including:  the Treasury Service of the Ministry of Finance, the Revenue Service, the National Bureau of Enforcement, the State Services Development Agency, the National Agency of Public Registry, the Service Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Security Police.
