National Bank President Roman Gotsiridze met with the KFW Delegation, headed by the first vice-president Doris Kion. KFW is ready not only to continue but widen its participation in the Georgian financial market and represent the banking products such as long-term mortgage lending and micro insurance in the private sector. The National Bank is a leading partner of KFW in the deposit insurance scheme. President Gotsiridze said that the work on this project will continue. The group established with the National Bank together with the German experts will develop the draft law and submit it to the Parliament. The National Bank president thinks that the introduction of a deposit insurance scheme in the Georgian commercial banks will increase the public confidence in the banking system. KFW has been operating in the Georgian financial and banking sector since 1998, through the Georgian-German fund. The German banking group was among the founders of the Georgian MBG bank (now Procredit Bank).
