National Bank of Georgia shall mint three new commemorative coins. NBG announced the competition on producing the sketches of the design of new commemorative coins. Topics of the contest are as follows:

• Georgia in the list of UNESCO cultural heritage - "Svetitskhoveli";
• Georgian performing art from the series of Georgian dance - "Georgian Dance";
• Georgian wine and grapevine - "free topic".

Deadline for the submission of designs is June 15. The winner authors shall be awarded 3 thousand Laries each.

Mr. Gocha Gordeziani, the Head of the Cash Operations and Money Circulation Department arranged the briefing about announcing the competition on the design of commemorative coins at the Money Museum of the National Bank of Georgia. According to him "thematics of new coins was chosen taking into consideration the Georgian traditions and Georgian culture. These new Georgian commemorative coins shall spread not only in Georgia but throughout the whole world too. Georgian thematics shall become well known on the numismatic markets of the world."
