During his address, he discussed the importance of financial education and the role of the NBG in this matter.

"I am delighted that, as part of the Global Money Week, we have the opportunity to host this public panel among other planned events. It allows us to engage with students on topics that are not only relevant but also essential for individuals of any specialty or professional goal. Money is integral to our lives; understanding it is a life skill that everyone needs," said Teimuraz Khomeriki.

Representatives from the Georgian Bankers' Association, the Pension Agency, the State Insurance Supervision Service of Georgia, ProCredit Bank, Bank of Georgia, Basisbank, MBC the microfinance organization and Unison the insurance company also participated in the event. Speakers addressed a range of topics, including cyber threats facing students, personal data protection, safety recommendations for online banking and social media, career opportunities in the cybersecurity sector, personal financial planning, the importance of early retirement preparation, insurance, and cyber insurance. Young attendees had the opportunity to pose questions to industry professionals, participate in cognitive quizzes, and win branded gifts as souvenirs.

Global Money Week is an international awareness event celebrated by more than 170 countries since 2012, including Georgia since 2014. The campaign's slogan, Learn. Save. Earn., aims to enhance awareness and promote essential financial, economic, and entrepreneurial concepts among children and young people.

This year's event, taking place from March 18-24, focuses on financial security, with the motto "Protect your money, secure your future." The National Bank of Georgia is organizing a series of activities in collaboration with approximately 20 organizations to mark the occasion.
