National Bank of Georgia Hosts Delegation from Central Bank of Azerbaijan
The National Bank of Georgia (NBG) welcomed a delegation from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan for a series of collaborative meetings.
During the visit, experts from the NBG's Macroeconomics and Statistics Department provided the Azerbaijani delegation with an in-depth overview of the practical implementation of monetary policy and the preparation of the balance of payments.
The meetings were officially opened by Ekaterine Mikabadze, First Vice Governor of the NBG, who emphasized the significance of such engagements. She highlighted that this kind of cooperation not only fosters the exchange of experience but also strengthens institutional ties between the two central banks.
The Azerbaijani delegation expressed its commitment to further enhancing collaboration with Georgia.
This visit follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Bank of Georgia and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan in March. The MoU aims to reinforce bilateral cooperation across several key areas.
Under the agreement, the two institutions will collaborate on the regulation and supervision of their financial sectors. The scope of cooperation also includes financial technologies, monetary policy, payment systems, and securities markets.
Additionally, the Memorandum provides a framework for sharing expertise and exchanging information, guided by principles of mutual support and partnership.
