National Bank of Georgia Hosted a Group of World Bank Experts

The National Bank of Georgia hosted a technical mission from the World Bank’s Financial Sector Advisory Center (FinSAC). As part of the mission, World Bank experts held a working meeting with representatives of the National Bank, the Deposit Insurance Agency, and the Ministry of Finance.


The meeting focused on issues related to consolidated supervision and resolution of banking groups. Discussions addressed international best practices and the European Union’s approaches in these areas. Key aspects of preparing recovery and resolution plans at the banking group level were also examined.


The meeting also highlighted principles and objectives of effective communication during financial crises, the main tools regulatory authorities can use in such situations, and the practical aspects and frameworks for communication preparedness in crisis response. Participants reviewed the experiences and practical examples from the EU and other countries.


It is worth noting that the World Bank’s Financial Sector Advisory Center actively collaborates with the National Bank of Georgia. Through meetings like this, it contributes to strengthening the resilience of the financial system, enhancing crisis prevention and management capabilities, and improving the overall framework.
