Natia Turnava, Acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, met Jihad Azour, Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department of the IMF, within the framework of the Annual Meetings held by the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Marrakesh.

The meeting was also attended by Ekaterine Guntsadze and Mirza Gelashvili, Deputy Ministers of Finance of Georgia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues and specific steps related to the swift recovery of the IMF-supported program now suspended temporarily. The need to finish the second review of the program on time was emphasized, for which both parties expressed full readiness.

"We agreed that the further work on the renewal of the program will continue at the level of technical teams in the near future," said Natia Turnava, Acting Governor of the NBG.

During the meeting with Jihad Azour, Natia Turnava reiterated that the NBG remains committed to the task of keeping prices stable.
