Natia Turnava Meets with World Bank Expert Mission
A delegation of World Bank experts visited the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) to support the development of the country’s payment infrastructure and the implementation of an instant payment system.
As part of the visit, World Bank representatives met with NBG Governor Natia Turnava. The mission’s concluding meeting, chaired by World Bank Program Leader Miguel Sanchez, focused on ongoing payment system projects, highlighting their significance, benefits, and prospects for integration with other countries' systems. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration in current and future initiatives.
During the mission, World Bank experts conducted specialized workshops for NBG employees, addressing key aspects of implementing the new instant payment system.
The meeting with the World Bank delegation was attended by NBG Vice Governor Ekaterine Galdava, along with representatives from various departments of the NBG.
Beyond their engagements with the NBG, World Bank experts also met with representatives from the public and financial sectors, commercial banks, and payment service providers.
