
Natia Turnava Meets with Visa Representatives within the Framework of the IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings
In Washington, within the framework of the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, the Governor of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), Natia Turnava, held a meeting with representatives of the international payment system, Visa.
The discussion focused on future areas of cooperation, ongoing joint projects, and opportunities to further deepen collaboration.
During the meeting, the NBG Governor highlighted Visa’s valuable contribution to the implementation of the Bank’s financial education initiatives. She noted that the NBG has a successful record of cooperation with Visa on various educational projects and expressed hope that this partnership would continue to develop successfully in the future.
Natia Turnava also emphasized that over the years, significant progress had been made in strengthening operational security with Visa’s substantial support. In particular, she pointed to the area of Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), where ongoing system updates and the introduction of new authentication mechanisms are currently underway.
The Governor of the National Bank of Georgia is participating in the IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings as part of Georgia’s official delegation.
Members of the delegation include Minister of Finance Lasha Khutsishvili, NBG Vice Governors Ekaterine Mikabadze and Ekaterine Galdava, Deputy Minister of Finance Ekaterine Guntsadze, and Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Vakhtang Tsintsadze.
