Natia Turnava Meets with US Ambassador and USAID Mission Director
Natia Turnava, Acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, was pleased to host US Ambassador Kelly Degnan and John Pennell, the Mission Director for USAID/Caucasus, at the NBG Headquarters. The parties discussed the economic trends and macroeconomic policy of Georgia, and focused on the projects implemented within the framework of cooperation with USAID.
"Throughout this trying period the whole world is passing through, the United States Embassy continues providing valuable assistance and guidance to Georgia. Your dedication to promoting economic development in Georgia has been truly commendable. There is an ongoing exchange of information between the NBG and the US Embassy about the reforms and actions that the NBG is taking in the face of the current global challenges. It should be noted that the successive steps of the National Bank of Georgia are in full compliance with the sanctions. I would also like to underscore the importance of close cooperation between the NBG and USAID and express my deepest gratitude to Her Excellency Ambassador and the USAID Mission Director for the greatest support of the economic development in Georgia. The encouragement of foreign investment, facilitation of trade agreements, and provision of technical assistance have all contributed significantly to the growth of our economy and the well-being of our people. The support of the American people facilitates the development of the financial sector and the establishment of the best international practices," Natia Turnava said.
