Natia Turnava, Acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, met with Axel van Nederveen, Treasurer of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and team of the Treasury Od Pakate and Gursu Keles.

The parties discussed current and future projects, including projects of financial markets development, financial risk management and hedging instruments.

In addition, the successful cooperation between the National Bank of Georgia and the EBRD Treasury was emphasized at the meeting. It was noted that the experience gained in Georgia is useful for other countries where the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development works.

Acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia hoped that the close cooperation between the parties will continue in the future.

"EBRD is our important partner, with whom we enjoy many years of cooperation in the areas of monetary policy and financial markets development. I hope this cooperation will expand even more in the future", Natia Turnava said.

 

EBRD runs 286 projects in Georgia, comprising a total investment of up to EUR 5 million. The Bank's investments encompass the financial sector, sustainable infrastructure, small and medium enterprises.
