Natia Turnava, Acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, met with Simon Lake, the representative of the British Royal Mint, within the framework of the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Marrakesh.

At the introductory meeting, attention was focused on partnership between the Royal Mint of Great Britain and the National Bank of Georgia and prospects for future cooperation. The parties expressed their desire to continue cooperation in the future.

"The Royal Mint of Great Britain is one of the largest producers of coins in the world, and has a long-standing relationship with the National Bank of Georgia. The Royal Mint is our long-term partner in coin production. At the meeting, we agreed that the cooperation between the Royal Mint of Great Britain and the NBG will continue in the future," said Natia Turnava.

It should be noted that a lot of projects of the National Bank of Georgia were implemented by the Royal Mint of Great Britain. In different years, The Royal Mint produced GEL 2, GEL 1 and 50 tetri coins, as well as GEL 10 anniversary coins dedicated to 2000 years of Nativity and 3000 years of statehood.
