Natia Turnava Meets Robert Bregy, Secretary General of the City of Lugano, Switzerland
Natia Turnava, Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, held a meeting with Robert Bregy, Secretary General of the City of Lugano, Switzerland.
Secretary General Bregy, accompanied by members of his delegation, arrived in Tbilisi to participate in an international event focused on FinTech development strategy.
During the meeting, the Georgian side introduced the delegation to the country's FinTech ecosystem, highlighting key achievements and outlining upcoming initiatives aimed at advancing financial technologies in Georgia.
In turn, Secretary General Bregy shared insights into financial services and FinTech projects currently underway in Lugano.
The two sides also explored opportunities for future collaboration in the field of financial innovation.
The meeting was also attended by Pietro Poretti, Head of Economic Development at the City of Lugano, and Marco Dal Lago, Vice President for Global Expansion.
Lugano, located in the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland, has emerged over the past five years as a notable center for FinTech and technological innovation. This transformation has been driven by initiatives such as the launch of a municipal stablecoin, the development of a FinTech-friendly regulatory environment, and the issuance of tokenized municipal securities. These efforts aim to position Lugano as a leading blockchain and FinTech hub.
