Mr. Roman Gotsiridze in Krakow Acquainted with the Activity of the Branch of the National Bank of Poland

At the last day of his business visit Mr. Roman Gortsiridze, the President of the National Bank of Georgia, visited the Krakow Branch of the National Bank of Poland. The National Bank of Poland has 16 branches all over the country. In Krakow Mr. Roman Gotsiridze acquainted with the activity of this branch. Afterwards in Warsaw he visited the Cash Centre of the National Bank of Poland where money destruction and sorting take place.
Mr. Roman Gotsiridze informed his colleague Mr. Leszec Balcerowicz about the innovation which will be carried out by the National Bank of Georgia in the future according to the foreign experts recommendations. Based on the international practice and the Tbilisi development outlook the National Bank of Georgia plans to allocate the Cash Processing Centre and the Bank Vault in the special equipped building out of the city. The new Cash Processing Centre will control all cash processing operations and will provide reliable security to operate on valuables in the entire closed space.
The President of the National Bank of Georgia Mr.Roman Gotsiridze invited Mr.Leszec Balcerowicz to visit Georgia in return. “Poland, the country which has already become the member of the European Union, is seriously intended to enter the Euro zone. Accordingly, it tries to bring its whole monetary system and technical characteristics to the international standards. Sharing the experience of Poland is very important for Georgia as we still have to pass the way of integration in the European Union “- stated Mr. Gotsiridze
In Krakow the President of the National Bank of Georgia faced with surprise: In the historical market square of the town, the area of which is equal to the areas of Tbilisi Freedom and Republic squares, 300 café-restaurants are placed. Among them Georgian “Sakhachapure” (“Khachapuri” is a cheese-cake, Georgian national meal) was found and traditionally this café is the most crowded place in the town. There are three Georgian restaurants in this town. “With a great pleasure we have found that Georgian“Sakhachapure” has no lack of consumer. It’s pleasant that the Georgian cuisine seriously gains a foothold in Poland and Europe in general”- noted Mr. Gotsiridze
The President of the National Bank of Georgia made his business visit to Poland on August 1, 2005. At the seminar organized by the National Bank of Poland Mr. Roman Gotsiridze made a speech - Georgia: Economic Changes and Prospects Following the “Rose Revolution“. The seminar, which was opened by Mr.Leszec Balcerowicz, was attended by the top officials of the National Bank, representatives of the commercial banks, scientists, business and press representatives of Poland. During the visit it was made decision that the National Bank of Poland will provide Georgia with technical support in Bank Supervision, Currency and IT spheres.
