In March 2011 the volume of money transfers from abroad constituted 88.1 million USD, which is 6.2 million USD or 7.6 percent more than the same amount for March 2010. During this period, the volume of remittances grew from Russia (by 3.2 million), Kazakhstan (by 1.8 million), Italy (by 1.7 million), as well as for several other countries.


90.6 percent of total money transfers from abroad fall on those 10 big donor countries, from which the volume of such transfers exceeded 1 million USD in March. In March 2010 the share of these 10 countries constituted 91.6 percent of the total volume of money transfers.

In March 2011 6.2 million USD were transferred from Georgia, instead of 7.1 million USD in March 2010.
