Money Transfers in December
In December 2009 the volume of money transfers from abroad constituted 95.8 million USD, which is 23.5 million USD or 32.4 percent more than the same amount for the previous month. The volume of remittances significantly increased for Russia (by 12.9 million USD), Ukraine (by 3.3 million USD), USA (by 1.3 million USD) and Greece (by 1.1 million USD).
93.3 percent of total money transfers from abroad fall on those 11 big donor countries, from which the volume of such transfers exceeded 1 million USD in December. In November the share of those 11 countries constituted 92.9 percent of the total volume of money transfers.

In December 2009 8.0 million USD were transferred from Georgia, while in November 2009 this figure amounted to 6.1 million USD.
