In December 2010 the volume of money transfers from abroad constituted 98.1 million USD, which is 2.1 million USD or 2.2 percent more than the same amount for December 2009. During this period, the volume of remittances grew from Russia (by 2.9 million), Italy (by 1.7 million), as well as for several other countries.


92.6 percent of total money transfers from abroad fall on those 10 big donor countries, from which the volume of such transfers exceeded 1 million USD in December. In December 2009 the share of these 10 countries constituted 91.1 percent of the total volume of money transfers.

In December 2010 8.4 million USD were transferred from Georgia, instead of 8.0 million USD in December 2009.
