In August 2012, the volume of money transfers from abroad constituted 116.0 million USD (191.1 million GEL), which is 1.5 million USD (2.1 million GEL), or 1.3 percent more than the same amount for August 2011.


 

91.3 percent of total money transfers from abroad fall on those 12 big donor countries, from which the volume of such transfers exceeded 1 million USD in August. In August 2011 the share of these 12 countries constituted 92.8 percent of the total volume of money transfers.

In August 2012, 8.9 million USD (or 14.7 million GEL) were transferred from Georgia instead of 8.6 million USD (or 14.2 million GEL) in August 2011.
