In August 2013, the volume of money transfers from abroad constituted 129.0 million USD (214.3 million GEL), which is 13.0 million USD (21.6 million GEL), or 11.2 percent more than the amount in August 2012.

93.6 percent of the total money transfers from abroad came from 12 big donor countries, with the volume of transfers from of these countries each exceeding 1 million USD in August 2013. In August 2012 the share of these 12 countries constituted 94.8 percent of the total volume of money transfers.

In August 2013, 13.5 million USD (or 22.4 million GEL) was transferred from Georgia, as compared to 9.0 million USD (or 14.8 million GEL) in August 2012.
