In August 2011, the volume of money transfers from abroad constituted 102.3 million USD (or 168.9 million GEL), which is 20.8 million USD (or 34.3 million GEL), or 25.5 percent more than the same amount for August 2010.



91.1 percent of total money transfers from abroad fall on those 10 big donor countries, from which the volume of such transfers exceeded 1 million USD in August. In August 2010 the share of these 10 countries constituted 91.6 percent of the total volume of money transfers.

In August 2011, 7.6 million USD (or 12.5 million GEL) were transferred from Georgia instead of 6.3 million USD (or 11.6 million GEL) in August 2010.
