In May 2011 the volume of money transfers from abroad constituted 93.1 million USD, which is 21.0 million USD or 29.2 percent more than the same amount for May 2010. During this period, the volume of remittances grew from Russia (by 10.0 million), Kazakhstan (by 3.6 million), Italy (by 3.0 million), as well as for several other countries.



90.4 percent of total money transfers from abroad fall on those 10 big donor countries, from which the volume of such transfers exceeded 1 million USD in May. In May 2010 the share of these 10 countries constituted 90.9 percent of the total volume of money transfers.

In May 2011 6.7 million USD were transferred from Georgia, instead of 5.8 million USD in May 2010.
