Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between the Central Banks of Georgia and Kazakhstan

During her visit to Kazakhstan, Acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, Natia Turnava, held a meeting with Timur Suleimenov, Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan.


The discussion focused on the stability and growth of the banking and financial systems in both countries. The leaders of the two central banks stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation to foster financial sector development among the Middle Corridor countries.


Following their discussions, Natia Turnava and Timur Suleimenov signed a memorandum of understanding and bilateral cooperation.


"The agreement aims to strengthen collaboration in key areas, including central banking operations, payment systems, and financial services. This strategic partnership will lead to a more integrated and cooperative regional economy, better equipped to navigate the complexities of today’s global economic landscape," said Natia Turnava.


The agreement emphasizes the importance of expanding and deepening bilateral cooperation, with both parties expressing a commitment to exchange information, share expertise, and collaborate on best practices in central banking.


Giorgi Edilashvili, head of the National Bank of Georgia’s International Relations Department, also participated in the meeting with the Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan.
