Memorandum of Bilateral Cooperation has been formed between the National Bank of Georgia and the National Bank of Moldova

On 1st of June, Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, Giorgi Kadagidze and Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Dorin Dragutanu signed a memorandum on Bilateral Cooperation between the central banks.

Dorin Dragutanu expressed a desire to visit Georgia and familiarize with the progress achieved through innovative reforms and spoke about future plans concerning the cooperation with the National Bank of Georgia in terms of sharing the experience.

Purpose of Agreement between the Central Bank of Moldova and the Central Bank of Georgia is to promote development of bilateral relations between the financial sectors of two countries. According to Agreement parties undertake to promote within their competence the development of bilateral relations between the Republic of Moldova and Georgia in the banking and financial fields, as well as to benefit from the best practices implemented in both institutions

"Today Memorandum of Cooperation has been formed not only between two institutions but between financial and banking sectors of two countries. By signing this agreement we facilitate business relations, initiate and support the joint projects" - stated Giorgi Kadagidze.

"Georgia as a successful reformer has a strong image in Europe. I think this memorandum will help to start new development stage and cooperation between our central banks; we are also interested in Policies implemented by the National Bank of Georgia" - stated Governor of National Bank of Moldova, Dorin Dragutanu

Agreement also includes possible restriction on exchange of some information due to the confidentiality considerations. In order to exchange information and experience short term working visits will be arranged.
