Koba Gvenetadze Meets Students
Koba Gvenetadze, Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, was pleased to meet with students to discuss economics as a profession. In his speech, he focused on the functions and structure of the National Bank of Georgia, deliberating on how decisions affecting the country's economy are made.
In addition, the NBG Governor spoke extensively about the current macroeconomic trends and introduced the students to the details of the measures and reforms implemented by the National Bank of Georgia during his tenure. The conversation covered the challenges resulting from the pandemic and subsequent hostilities, reflected in the economic indicators of the entire world.
"I am excited at this opportunity to meet the students once again. It is very important for me to understand what young people think about the current economic events in the country. We discussed in detail the functions of the National Bank of Georgia, and found it useful to look at the role the country's central financial institution plays in ensuring price stability. We also talked about the challenges in the world and how different countries deal with economic challenges. In addition, we discussed economics as a profession with students. Like at the previous meetings, we enjoyed an interesting and fruitful discussion at the end of the lecture," said Koba Gvenetadze.
