Gold Bullion Coins of Small Size and Weight Still Sold at the National Bank

Gold Bullion Coins of Small Size and Weight Still Sold at the National Bank

28 November, 2006
The gold bullion coins featuring the Golden Fleece were sold fast at the Money Museum and regional branches of the National Bank of Georgia. Those of small size and weight were most popular among customers and were thus sold out soon after issuance.   Having considered the interest of customers, the National Bank ordered an additional consignment of gold bullion coins of small size and weight. Like the old ones, the new coins were produced by the Austrian Mint.   It is possible to purchase all denominations of gold bullion coins at the Money Museum of the National Bank of Georgia during business days from 10 am to 1 pm and from 2.10 pm to 3.30 pm.   The selling price of the gold bullion coins is set according to the gold price established at the trading sessions of London Bullion Market Association. Trading sessions are held twice a day in London. Therefore, prices at the Money Museum of the National Bank of Georgia are calculated twice. From 10 am to 13 pm they use the price fixed in the previous afternoon’s trading session of London Bullion Market Association (3 pm London time). From 2.10 pm to 3.30 pm the coins are sold at the price fixed in the morning session of the same day (10.30 am London time).
