Georgian Public-Private Partnership Platform on Cyber Security: Papuna Lezhava Addresses Participants

The National Bank of Georgia participated in the founding meeting of the Georgian Public-Private Partnership Platform on Cyber Security, organized by the Digital Governance Agency. The project is implemented by the joint initiative of the European Union ("Strengthening Cybersecurity Capacities in Georgia”) and the United Kingdom ("United Kingdom - Georgia Cyber Cooperation").

 

The NBG Vice Governor Papuna Lezhava addressed the participants of the meeting, focusing on the growing importance of cyber security for the financial sector, especially in the light of digital transformation and the advancement of financial technologies. Papuna Lezhava emphasized the key role of public-private partnership in the effective management of cyber risks.

 

The development of cooperation mechanisms and public-private partnerships on cyber security is a national strategic priority for Georgia. The National Bank of Georgia is involved in the said public-private sector partnership project as a sector supervisor of the financial system. It is an important area for the proper and sustainable functioning of Georgia’s national cyber security environment, including critical information systems entities.
