
Finedu Awarded Winners of Literary Contest
Finedu awarded the winners of the literary contest Financial Education in Art at the celebratory event hosted by the National Library. Giorgi Kekelidze, Director of the National Library, was also a member of the jury. Certificates and souvenirs were given to 14 finalists and the winners were awarded by Natia Turnava, acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia.
The final event of the contest coincided with Finedu’s third anniversary. www.finedu.gov.ge - the financial education platform - was launched on September 9, 2020, at the discretion of the NBG. Finedu summed up the past three years at its anniversary date.
The event was attended by organizations supporting the contest and members of the jury: Bank of Georgia, TBC Bank, Credo Bank, microfinance institutions: Micro Business Capital and Crystal, Ilia State University, Caucasus International University, as well as representatives of publishing houses: Sulakauri, Diogene and Intellect.
Natia Turnava, Acting Governor of the NBG, addressed the guests of the event: "The contest was held with the involvement of very different and, one might say, contrasting fields - writers, from the field of art, universities as representatives of the education field, and financiers. This proves that financial education a so important and so much needed competence, that it attracts and brings together for discussion anyone interested in the well-being of our country".
Literary contest Financial Education in Art started on April 23, the World Book and Copyright Day. The participants had two months to submit their works. A total of 87 entries were submitted, from which 14 finalists and 3 winners were selected. The jury was represented by professionals from financial, educational and literary fields. As part of Finedu charity initiative, the books purchased on behalf of 87 participants of the contest will be gifted to the public school of Chaisubani village of Khoni municipality.
