Experts of the Royal Dutch Mint Conducted a Seminar for Georgian Designers in the National Bank of Georgia

On January 26, representatives of the Royal Dutch Mint including the Commercial Director - Rene van Deik - and the Commercial Manager - Jörg Saßmannshausen - conducted training on the design of commemorative coins and shared their experience with Georgian designers. The representatives of the Royal Dutch Mint were invited by the NBG. The project was financed by the Royal Dutch Mint.

During the seminar, the experts discussed trends in the development of the latest minting technologies for commemorative coins, details of the technical processes, tendencies of numismatic collection markets, different versions of coins' content and themes and several other relevant subjects.

The National Bank of Georgia has been cooperating with the Dutch Royal Mint for several years. The DRM has minted banknotes of 25 States. In the framework of this cooperation, representatives of the Royal Dutch Mint participated in the elaboration of the concept of Georgian money design and the minting of Georgian banknotes.

Money experts and other bank employees of the National Bank of Georgia attended the seminar.

In the closing part of the seminar, Georgian experts specified details of their interest with DRM representatives in a live discussion format. It was important for Georgian designers to learn from the experience of the Dutch Royal Mint experts.
