Ekaterine Mikabadze: “It is Important that More and More Debut Issuers Join the Local Capital Market”
Ekaterine Mikabadze, First Vice-Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, participated in an event marking the successful placement by Lopota LLC of two-year corporate bonds totaling USD 11 million and EUR 6.9 million.
The issuance was carried out under the company’s USD 20 million bond program and marks Lopota’s debut in the capital market.
According to Ekaterine Mikabadze, it is encouraging to see a company of Lopota’s scale and reputation joining the local capital market.
“2025 was a record year in terms of public corporate bond issuances, with the total value of bonds issued during the year exceeding GEL 1.5 billion. Strong activity has continued in 2026 as well. As of today, including Lopota’s issuance, seven issuers have placed thirteen public corporate bonds on the market, with a total value of GEL 570 million. This figure is approximately 80% higher than in the corresponding period of the previous year,” Ekaterine Mikabadze said in her remarks.
