Ekaterine Galdava, Vice Governor the National Bank of Georgia, participated in the regional forum of the International Monetary Fund and the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia.
The three-day forum held in the Armenian city of Dilijan was devoted to the Central Bank governance issues.
As forum organizers explained, during the 2022 review of the International Monetary Fund's Safeguards Assessment Policy, the IMF's Executive Board supported expanding the inclusion of regional matters in central banks' safeguards instruments and governance issues.
The forum participants discussed topics such as the role of the Central Bank Board in ensuring effective governance, the Bank's structure and working methods, key factors of quality governance (including the Audit Committee), the legislative framework, and the Board's secretariats.
The forum brought together representatives from the central banks of 20 countries.
