Ekaterine Galdava Meets with Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Hungary

Ekaterine Galdava, Vice Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, held a productive working meeting with Barnabás Virág, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Hungary (MNB). Also in attendance were Natalia Tchkoidze, Head of Payment Systems at the National Bank of Georgia, and Lajos Bartha, Head of Payment Systems at the Central Bank of Hungary.

During the meeting, the participants discussed potential cooperation between the two central banks.

The conversation highlighted the pivotal role of advancing payment systems for both the economy and society, emphasizing initiatives aimed at promoting cashless payments. Both central banks agreed to continue collaborating on advancing payment systems.

Ekaterine Galdava also expressed her gratitude to her Hungarian counterpart for establishing a professional training center at the Central Bank as part of the MNB's technical cooperation program. She further conveyed optimism for continued cooperation in this field.

“MNB's support and partnership will be invaluable in aligning our financial system with EU standards and best practices,”- Galdava remarked.
