Delegation of the National Bank of Georgia Participates in SWIFT Annual Meeting

Under the direction of Giorgi Glonti, the Vice-president of the National Bank of Georgia, the delegation of the National Bank of Georgia will take part in SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Communication) annual congress and Sibos exhibition which will be hosted by Copenhagen (Denmark) on 4-9 September. The Congress participants will review SWIFT strategy to assist world business development and from this viewpoint reach the transformation by the World Economic Community.
The recent program and new technologies will be presented at the exhibition by 200 financial institutes as a sign of client service and reduction of expenses. The SWIFT annual meeting in Copenhagen will be attended more than 5000 participants of the banking and financial sectors.
According to Mr. Giorgi Glonti, the Vice-president of the National Bank of Georgia, a new clearing system is implemented in the National Bank of Georgia. In connection with this on 5 September a meeting with SWIFT regional Manager Mr. Steeven Palsterman is planned. The theme of abovementioned project in particular the definition of price calculation and clearing system implementation method will be discussed..
The International system SWIFT is included in 7500 financial institutes of the 200 countries all over the world. The National Bank of Georgia became a member of the system from the year 1966. Now SWIFT service is used by 19 commercial banks of Georgia who carry out transfer procedures individually.
