Total volume of the non-bank deposits in the country’s banking sector increased by 0.1 percent or 7.3 million GEL compared with the January 1, 2012, and reached 6.8 billion GEL by February 1, 2012. In January, 2012, compared to the previous month, the volume of demand deposits decreased by 61.8 million GEL (2.1 percent) and term deposits increased by 4.5 million GEL (0.1 percent).

The dollarization ratio of the total non-bank deposits constituted 59.0 percent by February 1, 2012. It decreased by 1.0 percentage points compared to January 1, 2012.

The annual average weighted interest rate on term deposits constituted 8.6 percent. In particular, the interest rate for national currency denominated deposits was 11.8 percent and the interest rate for foreign currency denominated deposits 8.1 percent.

The share of US dollar in the total volume of foreign currency denominated deposits equals to 74.0 percent and the share of Euro equals to 21.5 percent.
