Total volume of the non-bank deposits in the country's banking sector increased by 9.0 percent or 643.2 million GEL compared with the July 1, 2012, and exceeded 7.8 billion GEL by August 1, 2012. In July, 2012, compared to the previous month, the volume of demand deposits increased by 392.2 million GEL (12.1 percent) and term deposits increased by 251.3 million GEL (6.4 percent).

The dollarization ratio of the total non-bank deposits constituted 62.44 percent by August 1, 2012.  It decreased by 0.11 percentage points compared to July 1, 2012.

The annual average weighted interest rate on term deposits constituted 8.4 percent. In particular, the interest rate for national currency denominated deposits was 11.0 percent and the interest rate for foreign currency denominated deposits 8.2 percent.

The share of US dollar in the total volume of foreign currency denominated deposits equals to 80.8 percent and the share of Euro equals to 16.6 percent.
