Total volume of deposits in the country’s banking sector (including term deposits and current accounts of non-financial and households sectors, including payable interest) didn’t change compared to the previous month and constituted 3.2 billion GEL by December 1, 2009. In November, the volume of current accounts of non-financial and households sectors decreased by 4.2 percent and volume of term deposits increased by 1.7 percent.

The dollarization ratio of deposits decrease by 1.6 percentage point and amounted to 71.4 percent by December 1, 2009. The annual average weighted interest rate for all deposits equals to 9.3 percent, in particular the interest rate for national currency denominated deposits is 10.6 percent and the interest rate for foreign currency denominated deposits is 9.1 percent.

The share of US dollar in the total volume of foreign currency denominated deposits equals to 77.1 percent and the share of Euro equals to 21.9 percent.
