Contest for Young Economists - National Bank Seeks Talented Students
The National Bank of Georgia is pleased to launch a contest for research papers to support talented students, open for undergraduate, 3rd and 4th year students, as well as Master students willing to participate.
The National Bank initiative aspires to recognize and support talented young economists. Metaphorically, the contest opens on the Bankers Professional Day, celebrated since 2001 to mark the 125th Anniversary of the founding of the first Georgian bank – the Noble Bank and November 8, the 163rd Anniversary of the birth of its founder and first leader Ilia Chavchavadze.
Students interested in economic and financial issues will be given the opportunity to consult with the experts of the National Bank before deciding on the research topic. With the guidance of the NBG experts, the students will be able to set clear goals, tasks, and solutions of the bachelor/master thesis, and to obtain and collect data.
The successful candidates will enjoy the opportunity to complete a 3-month paid internship at the National Bank of Georgia.
The purpose of the NBG contest is to encourage young people to take interest in research papers and to increase their involvement. Research papers to be accepted will include areas particularly relevant to the National Bank - financial stability, monetary policy and statistics. The effort is meant to contribute to an in-depth study of topics important to central banks.
