Chairman of the National Bank of Kyrgyz Republic visited the National Bank of Georgia

“My Swiss colleagues advised me to share the NBG experience” – Tolkunbek Abdygulov, NBKR Chairman. On December 9-10, delegation of the National Bank of Kyrgyz Republic, the Chairman of the Bank Tolkunbek Abdygulov visited the National Bank of Georgia. Delegation includes the board members of the bank and heads of departments. The main purpose of the visit is to share the successful experience of the NBG. A subject of a particular interest is the cash Centre of the National Bank, which is only one in the CIS, equipped with the modern safety technologies in compliance with the international standards.
“Recently I have visited the Swiss National Bank and they advised me to see the Cash Centre of the NBG which was constructed very quickly and is in compliance with the high EU standards. I have spent almost half day in the Centre, I have seen a building. The main goal of our visit is to share the Georgian experience and then try to implement the same project in Kirgizstan. I am familiarizing with the presentations on various subjects; I am interested in optimization issue of internal business processes” – Tolkunbek Abdygulov, Chairman of the National Bank of Kyrgyz Republic stated.
Tolkunbek Abdygulov and the members of delegation visited the Cash Centre today. The Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, Giorgi Kadagidze showed the visitors around the specialized cash centre building and talked about its unique capabilities.
“The delegation of National Bank of Kyrgyz Republic headed by the Chairman of the Bank is visiting us to learn about the reforms we have carried out in recent years. It must be noted that the large report of the International Monetary Fund which assessed the work of the National Bank of Georgia in whole will be published in several weeks. This report will be the first after 2006 and it will be the one more recognition of progress we have reached in recent years. I must say again that the National Bank is the very proper structure and completely meets the leading standards” – Giorgi Kadagidze, the NBG Governor stated. The working meetings with representatives of the cash centre, information technology, payment systems, internal audit, security and banking supervision departments are planned during the visit. Delegation will leave Tbilisi tomorrow.
