Beka Dochviri Appointed as Executive Director of the NBG

By decision of the Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, Beka Dochviri will serve as the Executive Director of the NBG. Until now, he held the position of Head of the Legal Department at the NBG.

Beka Dochviri has a legal background and education. From 2021 to 2023, he worked as the Deputy Chairman of "Sakpatent" (Georgian National Intellectual Property Center). Between 2019 and 2021, he served as the Parliamentary Secretary of the Government of Georgia and Deputy Head of Administration. In various years, he led legal departments at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. He was the Head of the Legal Service of the Economic Council office and worked at the Business Ombudsman's office as an expert on legal issues. At the beginning of his career, from 2009 to 2013, he was a lawyer at the Legal Aid Center and Media Center of the Georgian Young Lawyers' Association.

It should be noted that in February of this year, the President of Georgia appointed Natia Turnava as the Governor of the NBG. The NBG Board, which submitted Turnava's candidacy to Mikheil Kavelashvili, had four new members approved by the Parliament of Georgia on February 6. Currently, the NBG Board has a full complement of nine members. Following the Board's decision, Ekaterine Mikabadze has assumed the role of First Vice-Governor of the NBG, while newly elected Board member Nino Jeladze has taken the position of Vice-Governor of the National Bank of Georgia
