Bank Service Fee for Utilities Taxes to be Abolished from October

Utility taxes payment will be possible without extra fees from October 1st at 25 service centers of the Liberty Bank. Announcement about the decision was made by George Kadagidze, the President of the National Bank of Georgia at the end of the meeting in the bank today. Zurab Melikishvili, Chairman of the financial – budgetary committee of the Parliament of Georgia, Alexander Khetaguri, Minister of Energy of Georgia, Zurab Gvasalia, President of the Bank Association of Georgia and Lado Gurgenidze, Head of the Liberty bank attended the meeting.

“After two days of intensive work with the representatives of banks, we decided that payment of utility taxes without extra fees  will be available in 25 service centers of the Liberty Bank in Tbilisi. At this point we consider this issue decided”, - George Kadagidze, President of the National Bank of Georgia announced.

The issue about 50 Tetri commission fee abolishment for the utility taxes payment at commercial banks was initiated by Zurab Melikishvili, Chairman of the financial – budgetary committee at a parliamentary plenary meeting on September 14th who asked the National Bank of Georgia to solve this issue.
