National Bank of Georgia addressed commercial banks with the official letter to provide unimpeded service to the citizens requesting replacement of old and damaged banknotes.


The basis for National Bank’s address is frequent pretensions and telephone calls related to the assistance for what the society applies National Bank to settle the problems of 1 and 2 Laris old banknotes exchange in commercial banks.


For the purpose of situation improvement, citizens’ interests defense in the settlement process and quality increase of monetary signs existing in the circulation, National Bank of Georgia calls commercial banks, that under the current legislation are responsible for old Laris banknotes and coins replacement with the same nominal free of charge, or at the client’s discretion, with the banknotes and coins of the other nominal of the same amount, shall provide 1 and 2 Laris banknotes unlimited exchanged with the same nominal valid banknotes and coins (or due to the request other nominal) for physical persons and legal entities, notwithstanding they have or not the accounts opened in the banks authorized by them.
