A Seminar on Credit Assessment and Management was Held at the National Bank of Georgia

On October 23 a seminar on “Credit Assessment and Management in Commercial Banks” started at the National Bank of Georgia.
The representatives of the National Bank of Georgia and commercial banks attended the seminar.
The seminar was arranged by the Financial Technology Transfer Agency of Luxemburg, which finances the similar seminars in transitional countries on the basis of the technical assistance program. The seminar will last three days and will be conducted by the expert of the same agency Mr. André Taymans.
The expert from Luxemburg will review the risk and capital management of commercial banks, the issues of financial management on the whole; the necessity of grounding the issuance or non-issuance of a credit as well as the risk and profitability assessment mechanisms in commercial banks while issuing a credit. He will also touch the issue of the improvement of the activities of commercial banks, in particular, the dealing with problem loans by financial and operational restructuring, the development of strategy and organization of banking activity to conduct the operations faster, more qualitatively and at lower expenses.
The Financial Technology Transfer Research Agency intends to conduct three - week training - seminars for banking specialists in the so-called summer school of Luxemburg under the technical assistance program.
