The National Bank of Georgia continues meetings with the non-banking sector

The Vice-Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, Papuna Lezhava held a video conference with the representatives of loan issuing entities and currency exchange association to discuss the current situation in the non-banking sector.

The meeting focused on the main challenges in terms of both financial and customer services. They also discussed the possibility of restoring activities and ensuring a safe working environment for employees and customers of organizations in the future.

Due to the given restrictions and deadlines to resume the working process in the non-banking sector, the National Bank has decided to extend the deadline for submitting the report until May 31st for loan issuing entities and currency exchange bureaus.

The National Bank of Georgia will further continue the communication processes with non-banking sector, to overcome the current challenges caused by the new coronavirus pandemic with minimal loss and will support the sector within its mandate.

During the past week, the Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, Koba Gvenetadze met with the representatives of microfinance organizations.
