On 01 July 2021 the National Bank of Georia will start the issuance of the 5 and 20-lari banknotes of 2021 emission in circulation.

As aware, the National Bank of Georgia permanently satisfies the demand of the country's economy with cash as well as ensures the withdrawal of the obsolete banknotes from circulation and their renewal in circulation.

In 2021, the cash stocks of the National Bank of Georgia have been refilled with the banknotes in denominations of 5 and 20 lari for uninterrupted supply of the cash.

The banknotes of the aforementioned denominations have been printed according to the identical design and security features of the preceding banknotes with the year of issue "2021"and the signature of the active governor of the National Bank of Georgia. Besides, the tonality of the background patterns has slightly been modified on the 5 and 20-lari banknotes of 2021 issue without the changes of the dominant colour in order to reduce the risks of the confusion of these denominations between them.

The 5 and 20-lari banknotes of 2021 issue will be in circulation alongside with the notes of the same denominations of the previous years.
