National Bank of Georgia Hosts First Discussion with Economists on Newly Published Research Paper

01 May, 2024

The National Bank of Georgia recently held its first discussion with economists to review a newly published research paper titled "An Alternative to Core Inflation: Implementation of the Two-Component Consumer Price Index in Central Banks with Forecasting and Analysis System (FPAS)."

The meeting involved local economists who had the opportunity to discuss the paper's key findings and potential future opportunities. This initiative is part of the National Bank of Georgia's efforts to prioritize communication with the public. The Department of Macroeconomics and Statistics of the National Bank of Georgia will continue these discussions with economists across the country to facilitate feedback on current research, identify future research topics, and foster professional dialogue. Research papers, which convey authors' personal views and research findings, are intended to deepen the understanding of topics significant to central banks.

The research papers aim to contribute to the in-depth study of topics important to central banks, and they can be accessed in the Research Papers category of the National Bank of Georgia's publications.
