National Bank of Georgia expands statistics on financial soundness

National Bank of Georgia begins dissemination of updated data series on Financial Soundness Indicators (FSIs).

FSIs are indicators of the current financial health and soundness of the financial institutions in a country, and of their corporate and household counterparts.  The importance of FSIs increased significantly against the background of rapidly changing financial environment. Thanks to International Monetary Fund now-a-days more than 90 countries around the world are able to disseminate their FSIs on the IMF's FSIs website (http://fsi.imf.org/) in order to facilitate publicity of FSIs data. Georgia is among these countries, as a member of IMF's FSIs initiative since April 2012.

In order to ensure international comparability FSIs are calculated in a form of ratios. Hence, FSIs time series are accompanied with Metadata, describing appropriate calculation methods.
