The International Conference on "Making Global Goals Local Business"  organized by the United Nations Global Compact and Global Compact Network Georgia was held virtually on March 25-26, 2021. Within the framework of the conference the attendees discussed topics related to the Agenda for Sustainable Development including green economics, innovations, green finance and etc.

Koba Gvenetadze addressed the participants and discussed sustainable finance. "In the face of growing environmental and social challenges, it is vital to reorient financial resources towards more sustainable projects that support achieving Sustainable Development Goals. The role of central banks in this process is essential. In today's world, developing sustainable finance is no longer an option, it is already a necessity. Therefore, I am proud that the National Bank of Georgia has started working in this direction in 2017, and today, it is the first central bank in the region, which in cooperation with the international organizations has taken important steps to develop a sustainable finance framework", stated Governor Gvenetadze.

The Global Conference hosted by Georgia for the first time brought together high-level executives from the Government, Parliament, finance and business sectors, representatives of legislative and executive authorities, international organizations from Georgia, Ukraine, Poland, Turkey and Belarus.
