International Investment Position of Georgia

The net international investment position (IIP) of Georgia amounted to -17.3 billion USD (-41.2 billion GEL) for September 30 2015. This is -117.0 percent of GDP of last four quarters. This figure has deepened by 125.3 million USD compared to the third quarter of 2014, and improved by 259.7 million USD compared to the previous quarter. Transactions were negative, while exchange rate, price and other changes were positive during the quarter.

International assets increased by 228.7 million USD during the quarter and by 140.4 million USD compared to the third quarter of 2014. Total assets amounted to 6.6 billion USD (15.8 billion GEL) by the end of the third quarter.

Liabilities increased by 265.7 million USD compared to the third quarter of last year while decreased by 31.1 million USD compared to the previous quarter. Total liabilities amounted to 23.9 billion USD (56.9 billion GEL).
