Ekaterine Galdava, together with the delegation of the National Bank of Georgia, was on an official visit to Türkiye.

NBG Vice Governor Ekaterine Galdava, together with the representatives of the Payment Systems, Financial and Supervisory Technology Development and International Relations Departments of the NBG held working meetings with representatives of the Payment Systems and Financial Technologies Department and Investor Relations and International Organizations Department of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye.

Cooperation in the fields of payment systems and financial technologies was the main topic of discussion during the meeting. Attention was paid to Türkiye's experience in implementing the instant payments system and the QR code standard. The parties agree that compliance with international standards simplifies the connection of the infrastructure of payment systems. Ekaterine Galdava noted that the Central Bank of the country promotes the development of innovative approaches in the field of payment, both by providing the appropriate infrastructure and by introducing mutually complementary standards, including the QR code standard.

"The National Bank of Georgia actively promotes the development of new payment methods in order to provide customers with an innovative payment alternative that is safe and convenient. Instant payments with QR code is a modern and convenient payment method that is becoming increasingly popular worldwide. Through this system, users can easily and quickly make payments using mobile phones," said Ekaterine Galdava.
