The total volume of non-bank deposits in the country's banking sector increased by 0.7 percent (exchange rate effect excluded volume of deposits increased by 0.4 percent), or by 137.7 million GEL, compared to May 1, 2018 and constituted 20.0 billion GEL by June 1, 2018. In May, the volume of term deposits increased by 58.0 million GEL (0.5 percent; exchange rate effect excluded volume of term deposits increased by 0.2 percent). Demand deposits increased by 79.7 million GEL (1.0 percent; exchange rate effect excluded volume of demand deposits increased by 0.8 percent).

The larization ratio of total non-bank deposits constituted 37.75 percent by June 1, 2018, and increased by 0.17 percentage point (exchange rate effect excluded by 0.27 percentage point) compared to May 1, 2018.

The annual average weighted interest rate on term deposits constituted 5.4 percent. In particular, the interest rate for national currency denominated deposits was 7.7 percent and the interest rate for foreign currency denominated deposits 2.6 percent.

The share of the US dollar in the total volume of foreign currency denominated deposits equals 85.4 percent and the share of the Euro equals 11.1 percent.
