The National Bank of Georgia (NBG) is stepping up its collaboration with central banks belonging to the European System of Central Banks (ESCB). NBG representatives recently participated in a meeting of the ESCB Cooperation Working Group held in Vienna.

As a candidate country for EU membership, Georgia joined the meeting alongside representatives from national banks of current and aspiring EU members. During the discussions, Giorgi Edilashvili, Head of the NBG's International Relations Department, highlighted ongoing technical assistance projects with various international organizations. He emphasized the importance of further cooperation with the EU and its member states' central banks across various areas.

"The meeting was very productive," Edilashvili remarked. "We had detailed discussions on future cooperation with EU central banks, and we're committed to working together on new projects in different directions."
